Round 3 of the 2026 Formula 1 season brings the paddock to Suzuka, one of the most iconic and demanding circuits on the calendar.
As the first three flyaway races of the year come to a close, we’re focused on maximising performance and gathering crucial data before the April break.
Carlos Sainz arrives in Japan buoyed by his first points of the season and is eager to build on that momentum.
"It's good to be here in Japan and I'm looking forward to racing at one of my favourite tracks on the calendar! After scoring my first points of the season in China, I've been working with the team to extract everything we can from the current package at Suzuka this weekend. The weather has the potential to add some unpredictability, so we'll be aim to maximise any opportunities that come our way. The Japanese fans always make this race special, and I hope we'll feel their support from the stands!"

Alex Albon is equally enthusiastic about returning to Suzuka, a circuit he rates highly.
"I’m really looking forward to heading back to Suzuka as it's my favourite track on the calendar and a proper old school circuit. The fans in Japan are always amazing and you can really feel the support and atmosphere they bring each year. As a team, the focus this weekend is on continuing to learn, understand and fully optimise our current package so that we go into the April break with as much information as possible to develop the car for Miami when F1 resumes racing. Suzuka is a good test of the car, especially through the high-speed sections, so it’s a good opportunity to understand where we can improve and what we need to focus on."
