Round 17 of the 2025 Formula 1 season takes the grid to the streets of Baku, a venue where we secured a double points finish last year. Known for its unpredictable nature and unique mix of high-speed straights and tight corners, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix offers opportunities – and challenges – in equal measure.
Carlos Sainz is focused on turning pace into results around one of the calendar’s most unpredictable circuits.
"Heading into Baku, it’s one of those circuits that is very unpredictable, with the race always being one of opportunities.
"On my side, we’ve been working hard to better understand how the tyres perform in different conditions in our car, so it will be interesting to see what improvements can be made to our Qualifying consistency.
"We know we have the pace, so let’s try to make the most out of it!"
Alex Albon is also looking forward to returning to a track that has previously yielded strong results for the team.
"We’re coming to Baku with some good momentum after a strong return to the season following the summer break.
"Baku is a circuit that I enjoy driving, with a nice and familiar rhythm, but one you need to build up to throughout the weekend to be ready for Qualifying.
"This track provides good opportunities for overtaking, so our plan will be to maximise both Saturday and Sunday as we continue fighting for P5 in the Championship."
