Round 5 of the 2026 season takes us to Montreal, where changing weather, walls that punish mistakes and unpredictable strategy calls have a habit of creating drama.
This weekend, the forecast suggests wet conditions could once again play a role, potentially opening the door to mixed strategies and late-race twists around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Carlos lines up P15, with Alex just behind in P18, meaning both drivers will be looking to fight their way through the pack and take advantage of whatever opportunities Sunday’s race presents.
Don’t forget, with our new-for-2026 feature, you can now join or create a public or private group with friends to truly earn the bragging rights.

Lap 21–30. Alex stopped on Lap 23 here last season, and The Strategist expects a similar window despite the uncertainty around the weather.
Q2: On which lap will Carlos make his first stop?
Lap 21–30. Carlos went extremely long in 2025, but this year’s conditions could push teams toward a more conventional strategy approach.
Q3: Which Williams driver will pit first?
Carlos Sainz. Carlos has been first into the pit lane more often than not this season, and The Strategist expects that trend to continue in Montreal.
Q4: When the first Williams driver pits, what position will they pit from?
P7–P12. With overtaking opportunities available and strategy likely to shake up the order, there’s confidence one of our cars can move into the midfield fight before the first stop window opens.
Q5: When will our fastest lap of the race be recorded?
Between Lap 57–Finish. Late-race pace and lighter fuel loads often produce the quickest laps in Montreal, and The Strategist expects that to be the case again.
Q6: How many stops will our drivers make between them?
1–2 stops. Even with rain potentially threatening the race, The Strategist is backing a relatively controlled strategy picture rather than an all-out pit lane scramble.
Q7: Will there be a Safety Car OR Virtual Safety Car during the race?
Safety Car only. Montreal’s walls have a habit of catching drivers out, and a full Safety Car feels more likely than a Virtual deployment this weekend.
Q8: Where will the leading Williams driver finish the race?
P7–P12. The Strategist is backing both drivers to move forward in tricky conditions and put themselves in the hunt for points by the chequered flag.
