We're back in Europe for Round 7 of Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf, and the paddock has rolled into the historic and high-speed circuit of Imola. With unforgiving gravel traps and strategy windows that can change with a moment's notice, the Emilia-Romagna GP is one where nailing your picks can make all the difference.
The Strategist has done their homework and is ready to go again. Here’s how our secretive Grove guru sees this weekend playing out…

Q1: What lap will the first yellow flag of the race be?

Lap 1. Imola is a classic venue, it’s tight and the walls are close. The Strategist is predicting an early incident to get us started.

Q2: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?

Lap 11–20. Alex stopped on Lap 8 last year, but this time the call is for a slightly longer opening stint.

Q3: On which lap will Carlos make his first stop?

Lap 11–20. Carlos went deep into the race in 2024 with a Lap 27 stop. This year, The Strategist believes both drivers will pit closer together.

Q4: Which Williams driver will pit first?

Carlos. He’s led the pit strategy four times already this season. The Strategist sees no reason for that to change.

Q5: Which Williams driver will set our fastest lap of the race?

Alex. He took the honours last time out, and The Strategist is backing him to do it again.

Q6: How many pit stops will our drivers make between them?

Four. It was five stops last year, but with improved tyre life and cleaner racing, four feels right for 2025.

Q7: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?

One. The last one came in 2022, but as we saw in Qualifying, one small mistake and the walls approach fast. The Strategist sees at least one deployment this Sunday.

Q8: Where will the leading Williams driver finish the race?

P6–P10. We haven’t scored at Imola since it returned to the calendar – but The Strategist believes that’s about to change.
Imola is always a challenge, but with the right calls, it could be your best-scoring round yet. Will you back The Strategist’s vision – or trust your own instinct?
