The Atlassian Williams F1 Team Driver Academy's karting sensation wins the 2026 FIA Karting European Championship Junior title

Will Green has been crowned the 2026 FIA Karting European Championship Junior champion. Our 13-year-old karter took the title at the Asum Ring in Kristianstad, Sweden, converting his commanding championship lead into glory at the final round of the season.
Will arrived in Sweden with a 72-point lead and 101 points available, enough to limit too many risks in the final weekend. Qualifying practice placed him P15, and after a P16 intermediate classification following the heats, he finished to P4 in Super Heat B.
The final saw him cross the line P12, but the mathematics had already done the work. Will finished the season on 305 points, 71 points clear of the runner-up, a gap that reflects the consistency he showed throughout the year.
An Academy tradition
Will becomes the latest in a distinguished line of Atlassian Williams F1 Team Driver Academy members to have won this title. Dean Hoogendoorn claimed the Junior crown in 2025, and Oleksandr Bondarev did the same in 2023.
Joining a distinguished list
Alex Albon took the European Karting title in 2010, whilst Williams alumni George Russell won it in back-to-back years in 2011 and 2012. Lando Norris, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, followed in 2013.
Will is now part of that company.
In 2001, it was Sebastian Vettel who took top honours in the series, nine years shy of the first of his four World Drivers’ Championship titles. There are also some eye-catching names to have finished runner up in the category, including Lewis Hamilton (1999), Carlos Sainz (2009), Alex Palou (2012) and current F1 championship leader Kimi Antonelli (2019)

Will Green joined the Atlassian Williams F1 Team Driver Academy in December 2024 at the age of 11. Now 13, he has wasted no time in making his mark, capping his first 18 months within the Academy by claiming one of junior karting's most prestigious titles.
