Formula 1 have announced the six venues that will host Sprint weekends during the 2024 season - with two new venues added to the list.
F1 Sprint will return to the Austrian and São Paulo Grands Prix for a third-straight year, whilst Austin and Qatar will host the format for a second time.
Completing the list of six is China, with the Shanghai International Circuit marking its return with the first Sprint weekend of 2024, and Miami.
Williams Racing picked up their first F1 Sprint points in Qatar last season, with Alex Albon’s superb drive from P17 to P7 in Losail, and will be looking to add to that tally in 2024.
The final format, including any potential changes to F1 Sprint weekends, will be confirmed by the Sporting Advisory Committee and the F1 Commission after their first meeting of 2024.
Stefano Domenicali, F1 President & CEO, has been pleased with how Sprint weekends have developed since their 2021 introduction, saying:
“I am delighted to announce six exciting venues for next season’s F1 Sprint events, including two new hosts China and Miami, both of which will be fantastic additions and provide great racing for all our fans at the race and watching at home.
“Since its creation in 2021, the Sprint has been consistent in delivering increased audiences on TV, more on track entertainment for the fans at events and increased fan engagement on social and digital platforms, and we are looking forward to the exciting events next year.”
