It’s official – Summer Shutdown is over and it’s race week once again! All eyes are on Zandvoort for Formula 1’s return this weekend, but before the action starts, it’s always nice to share how our drivers spent their time away from the track.
For Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon, there was one clear theme to their summer: water. Both of them made the most of their downtime by heading out on the waves.
Carlos enjoyed family time in the sun, taking a well-earned break from the hectic F1 schedule.
One standout moment from his holiday? A daring ladder rescue. When the boat’s ladder ended up on the seabed (we won’t ask how), Carlos grabbed a snorkel, dived 11 metres underwater, and casually brought it back. Just another day for CS55.
Alex’s break also began on the sea, with a boat trip in Corsica alongside his partner, professional golfer Lily Muni He. The Mediterranean provided the perfect setting for some proper relaxation… and, of course, for Alex to showcase his questionable pancake-face skills.
As the break drew to a close, Alex and Lily swapped the sea for the mountains, heading to the spectacular Dolomites.
There are few better places to recharge ahead of the final 10 rounds than in the clear air of the Italian Alps. With hikes, swimming, plenty of R&R, and one eyecatching Instagram caption, both drivers are refreshed and ready to go again.
