Formula 1 has today confirmed that Istanbul Park will return to the F1 calendar from 2027 as part of a new multi-year agreement.
The Turkish venue first hosted a Grand Prix in 2005 and remained on the calendar through to 2011, earning a reputation as a fan and driver favourite thanks to its challenging layout.
More recently, Istanbul Park made a brief return in 2020 and 2021, stepping in as a replacement venue and delivering two memorable races.
Turkey was last on the F1 calendar in 2021
Under the new agreement, Turkey will once again become a regular fixture on the Formula 1 calendar from 2027 onwards.
Atlassian Williams F1 Team has raced in every edition of the Turkish Grand Prix, with its best result at Istanbul Park coming in 2009, when Nico Rosberg converted a P9 grid slot into a P5 finish.
Despite hosting just nine Grands Prix in its history, the 5.338km venue – located roughly an hour from Istanbul’s bustling city centre – is a firm fan favourite. One corner in particular, the quadruple-apex left-hander at Turn 8, holds a place in modern F1 folklore and has inspired many imitators at newer venues.
We can’t wait to get back to Turkey in 2027!
