Kean Nakamura-Berta is a Williams F1 Team Academy Driver racing in the 2026 Formula Regional Middle East and Formula Regional European Championship with Prema Racing.
Kean began karting at seven years old and was competitive from a very early age, taking fourth place in his official competition debut. His formative karting years have been impressive, securing the world OK-J title in 2021 and the European OK title in 2022, setting the stage for a strong single-seater debut in November 2023.
Joining the F4 South East Asia championship halfway through the season, Kean took pole position twice and stepped on the podium once, closing out the championship sixth in the Drivers' Championship despite only completing two race weekends.
In his first full year in single-seaters, Kean took second overall in the 2024 Formula 4 UAE Championship, winning two races and earning five further podiums across the season.
2025 was a break-out year, securing championship wins in both the E4 Championship and Italian Formula 4. The 2025 E4 Championship saw him stand on the top step four times, while in the Italian F4 Championship, he claimed 9 wins and only had three non-podium finished across the season.
In January 2026, he was announced as part of the Williams F1 Driver Academy ahead of his Formula Regional Middle East and European campaigns.
