Piers Thynne is Chief Optimisation and Planning Officer at Atlassian Williams F1 Team, where he is responsible for the end-to-end strategy to unlock and deliver more performance across the entire team.

Piers is also directly responsible for the execution of Operations - including Project Management, Supply chain, Quality, Manufacture, Build and Logistics.

Piers brings more than 25 years of operations and manufacturing leadership in Formula 1, most recently as Chief Operating Officer at McLaren Racing. At McLaren, he oversaw programme management, production, logistics and quality across the full car build cycle. He was central to the team’s FIA Constructors’ Championship wins in 2024 and 2025 and led the operational and cultural transformation that made those results possible.
