Pit Wall Predictions presented by Gulf – Round 17 Results

Carlos Sainz delivered a brilliant drive to secure P3 on the streets of Baku – a result worth 15 championship points on track. But it wasn’t just in the cockpit where points were being scored. Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf, kept the sharpest minds in our fanbase busy.
Here’s how the numbers stacked up after a dramatic Azerbaijan Grand Prix:

Q1: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?

It was straight into the pits for Alex on Lap 1, using the Safety Car period to replace a set of flat-spotted tyres, putting him in the Lap 1–10 bracket. Just 2% of players saw that coming.

Q2: On which lap will Carlos make his first stop?

Carlos stayed out until Lap 27, placing him inside the Lap 21–30 window. That made it a comfortable five points for 54% of players – and for The Strategist.

Q3: When will our fastest lap of the race be recorded?

Carlos set our fastest time on Lap 47, falling into the Lap 40–Finish bracket. 53% of the field called it correctly, alongside The Strategist.

Q4: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?

Just one Safety Car was needed on Sunday, something 49% of players predicted correctly. The Strategist, however, had gone too high here.

Q5: How many pit stops will our drivers make between them?

Three in total – two for Alex, one for Carlos. A tricky one, with only 27% of players finding the right number.

Q6: Which tyre will Alex end his race on?

The Hard compound brought Alex home, as correctly predicted by 56% of players – and The Strategist.

Q7: Which tyre will Carlos end his race on?

Another Hard finish, this time for Carlos. That gave 63% of players, and The Strategist, more points.

Q8: Where will the leading Williams driver finish the race?

Carlos bagged a superb P3, placing him in the P1–P5 category. Just 26% of players hit the target here – The Strategist included.
The Strategist’s Score: 5/8 – 25 Points
A much stronger showing from our Grove-based guru, who bounced back after recent struggles to hit five correct calls.
Only one player managed perfection with an 8/8 round, earning the ultra-rare Pit Wall Perfection badge, while a further 15 scored 7/8. The most common score this week was 4/8 (20 points).
On and off the track, it was a big weekend for Atlassian Williams Racing fans. Carlos brought home silverware, and our Pit Wall Predictions players kept pace with some sharp thinking of their own.
