This summer, Williams Education hosted its first ever STEM Day exclusively for the children of Atlassian Williams Racing employees – a rare opportunity to explore the world of Formula 1 from the inside out and get a glimpse into their parent’s work.
Over four days, more than 125 children took part in hand-on engineering challenges, simulator sessions, and a behind the scenes tour of our Heritage Museum. From crash-testing nose cones to learning about precision engineering, the day represented an opportunity to delve into the vision, history, and activity of one of F1’s most beloved teams.
Following on from the day’s programme, 90% of children said that the day had inspired them to explore STEM careers.
Williams STEM programme runs year-round - and any school or youth group can take part in the programme for free. This year alone, we’ve:
Welcomed kids from schools as far away as Aberdeen
Offered access to over 10,000 students
Seen that 88% of attendees reported an increased interest in STEM
