After only picking up five of a possible 40 points at the British Grand Prix, ‘The Strategist’ will be aiming for a stronger result this weekend.
However, it won’t be simple for our Grove guru as the Hungaroring has thrown up some of the most unpredictable races in recent years.
Currently ranked 94th with 170 points, The Strategist will be hoping their slide down the standings this weekend.
Keep reading to see what they are predicting for Hungary and why…

Q1: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?

Lap 21-30. I predict we’ll see a two-stop race as Pirelli have brought a softer compound to Hungary this year.
With that in mind, I think Alex will pit around the 20-lap window. Our No23 was forced to pit on the second lap last year, but as long as we survive any opening lap madness, I see Alex going for longer in 2023.

Q2: On which lap will Logan make his first stop?

Lap 21-30. If all things go smoothly, I think Logan will come into the pits around the same window as Alex.

Q3: When the first Williams Racing driver pits, what position will they pit from?

P6-P10. We’ve been battling around these positions consistently over the last few races and I remain optimistic we can continue to fight around these places in Hungary. That’s despite the track not necessarily suiting the characteristics of the FW45.

Q4: How many pit stops will our drivers make between them?

My forecasted two-stop race would lead me to predict our drivers will make two stops apiece!

Q5: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?

One. There wasn’t a single Safety Car deployment in 2022, but this tight and twisty circuit has a habit of throwing up surprises, so I feel one deployment of the SC is a wise choice.

Q6: Which tyre will Alex end his race on?

I predict Alex will end his race on the hard compound. I don’t think we’ll see much soft tyre running during the race, so a medium to hard strategy may be the most common option up and down the pit lane.

Q7: Which tyre will Logan end his race on?

Similar to the above, I feel Logan will also finish on the hard compound.

Q8: What position will the leading Williams Racing driver finish the race in?

P11-P15. We expect to be there or thereabouts in terms of points scoring this weekend, but we know this circuit doesn’t suit us as well as the previous three, so I’m playing it cautiously and saying we’ll narrowly miss out on the points.
You’ve heard from The Strategist, but will you follow their instinct or go your own way? You have until the lights go out on Sunday to make your predictions, good luck!
