Jamie Chadwick will continue her work as part of the team’s Driver Academy

Williams Racing is delighted to announce that Jamie Chadwick will continue her work as part of the team’s Driver Academy. As part of the Academy, Jamie will continue with her personalised simulator programme, having begun her development work in 2019. The team also work closely with Jamie to support her own progression as a driver, helping with vital preparation ahead of her races, as well as working with her on media and marketing opportunities. Jamie was recently crowned the 2021 W Series Champion after an impressive campaign saw her claim four wins, appearing on the podium in seven out of the eight races. The 23-year old, who also claimed the inaugural W Series title in 2019, delivered commanding performances throughout the season, showcasing her talent on Formula One’s support bill. The British driver’s achievement saw her receive 15 FIA Super Licence points, in line with the governing body’s recognition of the series’ importance on the motorsport ladder. 2021 also saw Jamie run dual championship campaigns, competing in the inaugural season of Extreme E, the ground-breaking electric off-road racing championship, testing her off-road racing skills. In 2022, Jamie will return to the W Series Championship to defend her title. Speaking about the announcement, Jamie said “I’m delighted to continue working with the Williams team. I’ve had a lot of support from everyone there throughout the last three years and the simulator work I’ve done has been hugely valuable for my race preparation. I’m looking forward to continuing my programme throughout the 2022 season and I know that the team will be cheering me on during my upcoming 2022 W Series campaign; I’m really proud to continue representing the Williams name on the grid.” Sven Smeets, Williams Racing Sporting Director, added “We are incredibly pleased that Jamie will continue to be part of our team. Her immensely impressive performance in the 2021 W Series Championship only reinforced our appreciation for her talent and skill, and we were delighted to play a part in her commendable success. Jamie’s role in promoting female inclusion in motorsport continues to be both hugely important and admirable; she is a fantastic ambassador for the sport, and we are looking forward to working with her throughout the 2022 season.”
