Williams Esports Academy Update - May 2024

New joiners and upcoming races means there are new topics to dive into with the Williams Esports Academy!

The iRacing Academy took part in the VCO Infinity event, a series of 24 races in 24 hours. The highlight of this event was three podium finishes, across two car classes. At the end of the event, the Academy finished 18th overall ahead of some very notable competition including experienced pro drivers and teams!

Next on the calendar is the Nurburgring 24h where the iRacing Academy will take the challenge in GT4, a new class for us. This event is much tougher than other 24h races, so more preparation will play a pivotal role. This lineup include the newest recruit, Steffen Hjelvik, alongside experienced teammates Jerzy Glac, and Santeri Martikainen.

On the Assetto Corsa Competizione platform, the next SRO Esports season is finally on the way! After a successful year in 2023 across multiple Championships, our pro team is working hard alongside the academy in their preparation to qualify for the Silver class in what is the top competition on ACC. We with pre-qualifying until May 20th, before we reach the first round at Suzuka on June 8th.
