Today is the day. F1® The Movie hits cinemas on 25th June, with a North American release following on 27th June. Once you’ve grabbed the popcorn and have taken your seats, make sure to keep your eyes peeled.
Why, you ask? Well, Grove was sprinkled with a little Hollywood magic as our wind tunnel formed the backdrop in scenes during the film.
The production team of this blockbuster looked to maintain authenticity to real-world Formula 1 as much as possible. Instead of building an elaborate wind tunnel set, they filmed in our real facility.
Speaking to
The Times, Atlassian Williams Racing Team Principal James Vowles explained: "They approached us, because they could have done a [film] set from what I understood, but actually wanted to replicate or be in exactly the environment."

For four days in 2024, Grove doubled as a movie set for what, as James added, could be another turning point in the growth of our sport.
“I really do think this is an incredibly important milestone in our history and going forward, so I wanted to be a part of it in some form or another.”
Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton and Brad Pitt, the film stars Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver returning to the grid, and Damson Idris as his rookie teammate, Joshua Pearce.
We can’t wait to see F1 like never before, with Grove set to make its big screen debut.
