Atlassian Williams Racing Brand Ambassador and Academy Adviser Jamie Chadwick continues to break new ground, claiming a second consecutive victory in the 2025 European Le Mans Series – and making history in the process.
Racing for IDEC SPORT at Circuit Paul Ricard, Jamie became the first-ever female driver to secure an outright win in the European Le Mans Series. This came after the No. 18 LMP2 machine took the class victory at Race 1 in Barcelona last month.
Lining up fourth on the grid in the No. 18 LMP2 machine, Jamie took the start in challenging conditions. A greasy track and looming rain presented early drama, including a moment at Turn 2 that saw her drop to P11 in class. But as we’ve come to expect from Jamie, she adjusted quickly and fought back.
After an early switch to wet tyres on Lap 6, Jamie powered through worsening weather to complete a competitive 31-lap opening stint, handing over the car in fifth position to teammate Daniel Juncadella.
Reflecting on her, Jamie said: "It was a cool start – I was convinced starting on slicks was the right call, and I still think it was, but the rain just kept coming.
“We had a bit of a moment early on, which was frustrating, but the timing on the wets worked out and I was happy to hand the car over in the lead group. We stayed in the fight, and that’s what counts."
Her teammates carried the momentum forward, with Juncadella moving up to P2 before Mathys Jaubert completed the final stint. With a clinical drive, the Frenchman claimed the lead with just over an hour to go – securing IDEC SPORT’s first overall win of the season and keeping their perfect 2025 record intact following that P1 in class at Round 1.
Jamie and her colleagues top both the Drivers’ and Teams’ standings with a perfect score after the first two rounds, and will be back in action for Round 3 in Imola at the start of July.
