From the wide open layout of Barcelona, to the tight, leafy surrounds of Montreal. Round 10 of Pit Wall Predictions brings us to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve – a fast, flowing track that’s no stranger to chaos.
With plenty of potential for yellow flags, and famously punishing barriers (we’re looking at you, Wall of Champions), strategy could once again be the difference between a strong haul of points and a weekend to forget.
The Strategist has been digging into the data, and here’s how our Grove guru sees things shaking out in Canada. Here are their Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf…

Q1: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?

Lap 21–30. That was the window last year, and The Strategist expects a repeat performance this time around.

Q2: On which lap will Carlos make his first stop?

Lap 21–30. Carlos mirrored Alex’s stop timing in 2024, and unless there’s an early twist in the tail, this feels like a safe prediction.

Q3: Which Williams Racing driver will pit first?

Carlos. The Strategist is tipping Carlos to be our first driver into the pits.

Q4: When the first Williams Racing driver pits, what position will they pit from?

P11–P15. With Carlos starting further down the order, The Strategist expects him to box from the midfield, maybe aiming to undercut those ahead.

Q5: When will our fastest lap of the race be recorded?

Lap 57–Finish. Late-race pace was key in 2024, and with fuel loads dropping, expect another last-gasp flyer.

Q6: How many Virtual Safety Car periods will there be?

0. There was no VSC in last year’s Canadian GP, and The Strategist sees that trend continuing.

Q7: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?

1. There were two in 2024, but The Strategist is splitting the difference and suggesting a single SC this time.

Q8: Where will the leading Williams driver finish the race?

P6–P10. It’s been two years since we last scored in Montreal – The Strategist believes it’s time that changes.
Another round, another set of tough calls. Will you follow The Strategist’s calculated logic, or take matters into your own hands?
