Menopausal women are the fastest growing group of workers in the UK. But despite it being a natural life process, the menopause, and how symptoms can affect employees at work are very rarely discussed, if at all.
Two-thirds of women say they have no support at work, feeling “embarrassed, ridiculed, mocked, alone and afraid of failing”
80% of women feel the menopause is not acknowledged at work
Around 10% of women have given up work due to their menopause symptoms.
At Williams Racing, our Occupational Health and HR departments look to break down bias and stigma to help provide a safe, supportive space for the benefit of all employees.
On Wednesday 9 March, Talking Menopause, one of the leading providers of workshops, are set to host an hour-long seminar at the Williams Experience Centre to help improve the understanding of menopause in the workplace.
This will be followed by a pilates session in the life fitness gym, designed to assist in the management of physical and mental issues that can be related to menopausal symptoms.
Williams have also published a policy for all employees to support the management of menopause at work.
