Creating the Collection - Australia

Thank you for picking up the 2024 Williams Racing Australia Collection Cap! We truly love our visits Down Under and are thrilled you chose to share your support for the team with our latest cap.
In 2024, we want our Race Collections to resonate with those in the locations in which we are racing, giving them a local flavour
Our Australia Collection celebrates the outstanding coffee culture in Melbourne, and here’s a little bit more about it…

Why Coffee Culture?

Melbourne's coffee culture is an essential part of the city's identity. At the heart of this culture is an impressive array of coffee options, having been a pioneer in the third-wave coffee movement.
One stroll around Melbourne's streets will reveal a plethora of cafés. These spots aren’t simply places to grab a quick cup, they each have their own unique atmosphere
Sharing a cup of coffee in Melbourne is more than a routine, it's a social event that brings people together. In essence, Melbourne's coffee culture is a lifestyle - a reflection of the city's creativity, diversity, and commitment to quality.
The dynamic nature of the coffee scene makes it an integral part of Melbourne's cultural fabric.
On the flip side, it could be said that coffee is the unofficial fuel of our sport. As we travel the globe to battle it out over 24 Grands Prix, building and racing some of the most complex machines ever created, coffee is an essential part of the process.
It’s fair to say coffee and Formula 1 go hand-in-hand, and there’s no better place to celebrate that than in Melbourne, Australia.

Williams Racing team members consumed a total of 1,400 coffee pods between them during Pre-Season Testing, consisting of various amounts of double/single and de-caf.
Another 1,000 were used for the Bahrain Grand Prix race weekend itself.
As of March 2023, there were reportedly over 2,000 cafés in the city of Melbourne.
The Flat White originated in Sydney, Australia… depending on who you ask! Kiwis have their own claims to it. Engineers tend to drink the strongest coffee at Williams Racing, often going for a double expresso shot.
James Vowles drinks both single shot cappuccino or de-caf, he also drinks tea in the afternoon – a special malt biscuit Yorkshire tea.
