Formula 1 heads to Brazil for Round 20 of the 2026 season, with the iconic Interlagos circuit set to host the final race of a demanding triple header.
Known for its flowing layout, dramatic elevation changes and unpredictable weather, Interlagos offers plenty of opportunities for wheel-to-wheel racing. Williams Racing will be looking to build on the positives from Mexico and make the most of a circuit where tyre management, energy deployment and adapting to changing conditions will be key.
Carlos Sainz is looking forward to returning to a circuit he enjoys, while recognising the importance of adapting quickly after missing the opening practice session.
“Interlagos is a track I love coming back to. It’s old-school with a lot of character and a great atmosphere, and the lap flows nicely. It’s also one of the circuits that’s toughest on the tyres, and the weather could be very mixed this weekend, so we’ll need to adapt as conditions change. I'll be missing FP1 too, which makes getting up to speed quickly even more important. There’s a lot to understand with this new generation of cars here, including how we manage energy through the lap, so we’ll take the learnings we can to get the most out of the weekend.”

Alex Albon is also excited to return to Brazil, where the passionate fans and opportunities for close racing make Interlagos a favourite among drivers.
“I'm looking forward to finishing this triple header on a high and being in Brazil again, the fans here are brilliant and the atmosphere is always great. It’s a really fun track to drive too, with all the elevation change, and you can properly race here, so if we get the strategy right there’s an opportunity. The weather can be a bit of a wildcard, so we’ll need to stay flexible and see what the weekend brings. We took some positives from Mexico, particularly the pace in the car, but we want to turn that into a stronger result this time. The team has been working hard to learn from the last few races, and I’m looking forward to getting out on track on Friday and seeing what we can do.”
