After taking victory at the season-opening WSK Champions Cup last week, Oleksandr Bondarev has followed it up with another P1 finish at Lonato.
The 14-year-old Ukranian enjoyed a faultless weekend at South Garda Karting, completing a clean sweep to top the charts in practice, qualifying, pre-final and Sunday’s race to secure a visit to the top step for the second weekend in succession.
In truth, it was the main event on Sunday where he had his biggest battle of the weekend, but got his elbows out to ensure it was his Prema kart that crossed the line first, doing so with a margin of 0.5s over P2.
That winning feeling...
It’s the perfect start to the year for our Williams Racing Driver Academy karter, who has set a marker down in his pursuit of the title in the WSK Super Master Series.
Our Kyiv-born teenager has 90 points to his name following the opening weekend, a lead of 21 over his nearest challenger in the four-round series.
Round 2 will take him to Cremona Circuit from Thursday 8th - Sunday 11th February where he’ll be looking to build upon his positive start to the season.
