After a five-week break, Formula 1 roars back into life – and it does so in style.
The Miami Grand Prix has quickly become one of F1’s major events, and with a Sprint weekend, new regulations still bedding in, and plenty happening on and off track, there’s a lot to get across as we return to racing.
Here are five key things to watch in the 305.
Practice makes perfect
There’s a small but significant change to the weekend schedule in Miami.
Free Practice 1 has been extended from the usual 60 minutes to 90 minutes, giving teams and drivers extra time to get up to speed after the extended break.
The decision – confirmed by the FIA last week – reflects a number of factors: the five-week gap since the last race, the introduction of fresh regulatory tweaks, and the fact that Miami hosts a Sprint weekend, where practice time is already limited.
This will be the third-consecutive season that the 100km dash takes place in Miami, with 2025’s edition bringing with it some wet weather drama.
Carlos in the Miami rain last year
Whilst Saturday looks clear weather wise this year, it’s worth noting that this will be the first of back-to-back Sprint events, with Montreal in three weeks’ time also hosting the format.
So after almost a month without any racing action, we’re set for two Sprints and two Grands Prix in the space of three weeks.
To celebrate our return to the 305, we’ve dropped a fresh New Era collection.
Inspired by Miami’s iconic Art Deco district and the bold, vibrant colour palettes the city is known for, the range features caps, t-shirts and a standout buttoned Team Kit piece.
Whether you’re trackside or tuning in from afar, it’s the perfect way to show your support and look the part for race weekend.
Our Fan Zone, presented by Kraken, returns to Miami for a fifth consecutive year – and this time, we’re setting up in the heart of Wynwood.
Located at Wynwood Marketplace, the space will be packed with experiences for fans across the weekend, including live Q&A sessions with Carlos, James, Luke and Damon.
If you can’t make it in person, you won’t miss out as all Q&As will be streamed live on our official app, bringing you closer to the team wherever you are in the world.
Something to Marvel at
The Miami Grand Prix always brings out the stars – but in 2026, it’s bringing superheroes too.
We’ve teamed up with Marvel for a landmark collaboration that sees the team step into the Marvel Universe for the very first time.
A special comic book one-shot will star Alex Albon, Carlos Sainz and Team Principal James Vowles as they face their biggest challenge yet, a battle with Doctor Doom, with support from iconic heroes including Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America.
Fans in Miami can get involved in the action by checking out our Marvel mural at the Fan Zone, plus the cover will also be on display.
