After a challenging start to the year, the team enjoyed a positive end to their weekend at the Chinese Grand Prix, with Carlos delivering a superb drive to bring home our first points of the 2025 season.
Starting from P17, Carlos charged through the field at the start and, thanks to a brilliantly managed one-stop strategy with 46-lap stint on the hard compound, came home in P9 despite late pressure.
On the other side of the garage, Alex was unfortunately unable to take the start after a hydraulic issue on the laps to grid forced a DNS.
Here’s how it sounded when Carlos took the chequered flag in Shanghai.
Carlos and Gaetan in good spirits ahead of the race in Shanghai
Gaetan Jego (GJ) was first on the radio after a standout drive, with Team Principal James Vowles (JV) quick to praise the performance and the team’s first points of the year.
GJ: Chequered flag, P9. Hell of a race, mate. Very good job. Really, really good job. Strong race, a lot of learnings. Solid start, good job on the energy, good job on the tyres. Really strong, good job.
CS: Thank you – good job, guys!
JV: Carlos, well done! That is really an incredibly strong drive. We will come back stronger, the car is just going to keep getting better from here onwards. It’s good to be on the board with points. Really, really well done.
CS: Yeah, thank you! Let’s hope this serves as a little bit of bonus motivation for everyone to dig deep now. Let’s push.
