This badge has arrived just in time for Día de Muertos, and it has brought the whole fiesta with it.
For this week’s Mexico City Grand Prix badge, we’ve gone big on colour, with a bright papel picado banner and plenty of Mexican celebration packed in. Read on to discover the inspiration behind the design.

Behind the Badge: Mexico City
There’s plenty to spot in this year’s Mexico badge, with each element paying tribute to Mexican culture and the host city.
A decorated sugar skull, a nod to Día de Muertos, and a colourful piñata bring two instantly recognisable symbols of Mexican celebration to the design, while a guitar adds a musical touch. The agave plant, central to Mexico’s tequila and mezcal heritage, rises behind the badge.
We’ve also included one of the country’s most famous landmarks, the stepped pyramid of El Castillo at Chichén Itzá, and a helmet in the colours of the Mexican flag ties the design back to the race.
The papel picado banner, carrying the Mexico name, completes the badge and gives it a festive connection to the host nation.
