Finnish fan Assi walked away with $1,000 in Bitcoin thanks to Kraken and the WClub, here’s how she did it…

When Assi, an Atlassian Williams F1 Team fan from Finland, saw a congratulations email land in her inbox, she nearly didn’t think it was real.
"You see an email with the subject heading 'congratulations' and you almost can't believe it," she laughs. "But then it proved to be real. And even then, I kept thinking: I'm sure they'll find something wrong."
They didn't. Assi was the winner of our Bitcoin Pizza Day competition with Kraken, walking away with $1,000 worth of Bitcoin, a prize she'd convinced herself she had no chance of winning.
"Absolutely not," she says, when asked if she thought she'd win. "Every time you enter something you think: there are so many participants, and I'm just not lucky."

A WClub champion
Assi is currently at Champion tier in the WClub, and getting there has been very much a team effort.
"We have a WhatsApp group with a lot of Finnish Formula 1 fans," she shared. "I've been posting about the WClub a lot there. When there's a question to submit or something similar, I get someone to help me with inspiration."
A fan since childhood
Assi's Formula 1 fandom started, as many F1 fans' stories do, with her dad and a television set. She's been watching Formula 1 since the Mika Häkkinen era. "I was very small, but my dad was watching" and her connection to Williams deepened over time through the arrival of Valtteri Bottas and, more recently, through the arrivals of Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz.
"It's been cool to see the development this year," she says. "Of course it's been challenging, but I really love Alex and Carlos as well. The fans are really cool too, the whole community."

Assi created her Kraken account specifically to enter the competition, crypto was new territory for her, which makes what happened next feel all the more unlikely.
She was outside when the winner's email arrived. And despite not wearing Williams colours at the time, by complete coincidence she was wearing a Seattle Kraken NHL shirt.
"I also follow NHL, and Seattle Kraken is my team," she explains. "So I was wearing Kraken when I got an email saying I'd won through Kraken. It was kind of funny."
As for the $1,000 in Bitcoin, she's in no rush to spend it. "I try not to log in often, it's fun to check in occasionally. I think I'll hold on to it for a while and see what happens."
Her message to fans
Assi's advice to anyone who sees a Williams competition and scrolls past it? Simple.
"You might have a chance. You never know, if you don't participate, you're not going to win."
And her message to the team as the season continues?
"Keep pushing. Keep being a team. The fans will stick it through the tough times and the good times. It's a long-term project, I believe in Williams."
