The chequered flag has fallen at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez for the Mexico City Grand Prix, but how did your fantasy weekend play out?
We’ve looked back at both Pit Wall Predictions and Tyre or Lower to highlight the most popular calls, the predictions that caught most of you out and the questions that divided the community.
Pit Wall Predictions
How well did you predict the Mexico City Grand Prix? Plenty of neutralised running and a busy race for the pit wall made for some tricky calls. That said, 245 players secured Pit Wall Perfection with 100%. Let’s see how you got on!
The popular call
You were almost unanimous that we’d see neutralised running in Mexico City, with 93% predicting a Safety Car or Virtual Safety Car during the race. That proved to be a good call, with one Virtual Safety Car and two Safety Car periods.
The closest call
Question three proved to be the tightest of the week, as you predicted which Williams driver would pit first. 53% backed Carlos, while 47% went for Alex, who made our first stop on lap 18.
The one that caught you out
Our total number of pit stops was a tricky prediction. 44% correctly backed three stops, but 29% expected two and 24% went for four. Outside of red flag changes, we made three stops between us: two for Alex and one for Carlos.
Tyre or Lower
How well did you fare in this week’s Tyre or Lower? From Alex’s laps inside the top 15 to the length of the race, there were plenty of predictions to test your knowledge of the Mexico City Grand Prix.
The popular call
The majority of you expected the first pit stop of the Grand Prix to come before Lap 17, with 57% predicting Lower. That was the correct call, as the first stop by any driver came on Lap 3.
The closest call
Predictions were tightly split on whether a Williams car would be the 6th–8th car to pit. 39% predicted Lower and 35% went for Exactly Right, with the remaining 26% backing Higher. Exactly Right proved to be the correct answer, with a Williams car the 6th to pit.
The one that caught you out
Alex’s time in the top 15 proved a tricky prediction, with 60% expecting him to spend fewer than 25 laps there. While 18% backed Exactly Right, only 23% predicted Higher, which was the correct answer this time around.
