Three of our Academy karters were in action at Round 2 of the Champions of the Future series in Valencia, with Will Green delivering a standout victory in the OK-Junior class.
Will Green
Champions of the Future – OK-Junior
Will Green produced a sensational drive to claim victory in Valencia, completing an impressive recovery across the weekend.
After a difficult qualifying phase left him P44, Will worked his way forward through the heats to position himself for Sunday’s action. A superb performance in the Super Heat saw him take victory, securing a P10 start for the Final.
From there, he delivered one of the drives of the weekend – gaining nine positions and controlling the race at the front to take the win by over two seconds.
The result moves Will up to P4 in the championship standings after two rounds, underlining a strong start to his 2026 campaign.
Dean Hoogendoorn
Champions of the Future – OK
Dean Hoogendoorn continued his strong start to the season with another competitive showing in the OK class.
Building pace throughout the weekend, Dean secured a strong Super Heat result to line up P8 for the Final. He ran within the leading group in the early stages and remained in contention as conditions evolved.
However, an incident brought his race to an early end, leaving him classified P37.
Despite the setback, Dean retains the championship lead after two rounds, highlighting the strength of his performances so far this season.
Lucas Palacio
Champions of the Future – OK-Junior
Lucas Palacio endured a challenging weekend in the highly competitive OK-Junior field.
After showing promising pace in qualifying, penalties and incidents across the heats made progression difficult heading into Sunday.
Starting P24 for the Final, Lucas was unfortunately caught up in a Lap 1 incident, sustaining damage that forced an early retirement.
He leaves Valencia P16 in the championship standings, with positives to take despite a difficult outcome.
