The jewel in Formula 1's crown awaits as the streets of Monte Carlo host Round 6 of the 2026 season.
After qualifying just outside the top 10, Alex will start P11 and Carlos P12, putting both drivers in a position to attack on Sunday around the most famous street circuit in motorsport.
As always, track position will be everything in Monaco. Overtaking opportunities are few and far between, meaning a combination of strategy, tyre management and a little bit of luck can often make the difference between a frustrating afternoon and a strong result.
With that in mind, The Strategist has locked in their predictions for Round 6.

The Strategist’s Predictions – Monaco GP
Q1: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?
Lap 31+. Alex's first stop came on Lap 32 here last year, and with track position so valuable around Monaco, The Strategist expects another long opening stint.
Q2: On which lap will Carlos make his first stop?
Lap 31+. Carlos stretched his opening stint even further in 2025, stopping on Lap 48. Running long remains one of the few strategic weapons available around the Principality.
Q3: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?
One. Monaco's barriers are never far away, and while recent races have been relatively clean, The Strategist is playing the percentage game and backing a single Safety Car deployment.
Q4: How many Virtual Safety Car periods will there be?
One. We've already seen a Virtual Safety Car interruption during track action this weekend, and The Strategist believes there's a good chance of another appearing during Sunday's race.
Q5: Will there be a red flag during the Grand Prix?
No. While Monaco has produced its fair share of stoppages over the years, The Strategist expects any incidents to be handled without a full race suspension.
Q6: When will our fastest lap of the race be recorded?
Between Lap 61-Finish. With fuel loads falling and drivers pushing harder in the closing stages, late-race laps often produce the quickest times around Monte Carlo.
Q7: Which tyre will Alex end his race on?
Hard. The Strategist expects the hard compound to offer the best balance of durability and track position in the closing stages.
Q8: Which tyre will Carlos end his race on?
Hard. Monaco often rewards a simple strategy, and The Strategist believes the hard tyre will be the preferred option for the final stint.
