Race
Welcome to the Marina Bay Street Circuit, set against the spectacular Singaporean skyline, and host to the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.
As the first night race in Formula 1 history, this event offered something special from its very first race and was a precursor of F1's day-or-night future.
The circuit winds through the city-state's streets, passing by landmark after landmark through a mix of high-speed sections, tight corners, and technical challenges — all with the threat of a tropical storm hitting at any time.
Circuit Overview:
The Marina Bay Street Circuit stretches over 4.940 km (3.070 miles) with a reduced 19 turns after last year's tweaks in the final sector but is still a long track that demands concentration under the bright lights.
Sector 1 contains the end of the start-finish straight's DRS zone and another zone on the exit of Turn 5 and into Turn 7 before the second sector's technical section takes over.
The third sector begins with the last overtaking spot on the track, with the heavy braking zone into Turn 14 before wrapping around the Singapore Flyer, the city's observation wheel, to conclude the lap.
