Q5: When Alex makes his first stop, what will the gap between him and the car ahead be?

Alex was seven seconds behind Carlos, having deliberately opened a gap to allow for a double-stack under the Safety Car. Only 7% of players saw this one coming.

Q6: When Carlos makes his first stop, what will the gap between him and the car ahead be?

Carlos was just 1.4s behind Lawson when he boxed, meaning the 0.1–2.5s option was correct. Over half of players (51%) scored here – as did The Strategist.

Q7: How many Virtual Safety Car periods will there be?

There was one VSC in Zandvoort, rewarding 45% of players.

Q8: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?

Three. What proved to be the most disruptive factor of the race. Just 1% of players predicted three or more Safety Cars – one of the toughest questions of the season so far.
The Strategist’s Score: 1/8 – 5 Points
It was always going to be a tough round with the constant interruptions, and our Grove guru struggled to keep up. Only their call on Carlos’s stop gap came good, leaving them with a solitary point.
This was also one of the hardest rounds for fans: no one achieved the perfect 8/8, though 50 players did top-score with 30 points (6/8). The most common score was just 2/8 (10 points).
Zandvoort has reminded us all how unpredictable Formula 1 can be – and why Pit Wall Predictions is as much about instincts as statistics.
Play again later this week as Formula 1 heads to Monza: the Temple of Speed.
