It was a night to remember under the lights in Lusail.
From his P7 grid slot, Carlos surged forward at the start and the team played the strategy right to take a sensational P3 at the Qatar Grand Prix.
It’s his second Grand Prix podium of the season, and the first time we’ve stood on multiple F1 race podiums in the same year since 2015.
Alex also delivered a determined drive, climbing from P14 to P11 despite the early Safety Car working against him. His efforts, along with Carlos’, were pivotal in helping the team secure P5 in the Constructors’ Championship for the first time since 2017.
Here’s how it all sounded when the chequered flag fell in Qatar.
Gaetan Jego (GJ) and Team Principal James Vowles (JV) were the first to congratulate Carlos as he crossed the line for another landmark podium.
GJ: That’s the flag – that’s P3, P3!
CS: UNBELIEVEABLE! UNBELIEVEABLE!
GJ: Amazing, f***ing hell! Sorry for my word! Amazing! Just… incroyable! Incroyable! Superbe course! Beautiful race, congratulations! I have no words, congratulations. Good job mate.
JV: You made us proud in Baku, and wow have you done justice to it today! Well done, Carlos, that is an absolutely incredible drive. So proud of you, man. Proud of you.
CS: PODIUM IN QATAR, WHAT THE HELL?! HAHAHA! Vamos James, vamos Gaetan!
CS: Great job everyone! Strategy, mechanics, engineers, drivers – incredible. Amazing guys, I am so proud of you, honestly. This makes me very proud of everyone, so proud. You cannot imagine.
JV: And Carlos, an extra bit of news for you. Well done, you just secured P5 in the Constructors’ Championship for us.
GJ: Enjoy, enjoy! I’m not going to be emotional like Baku, but it’s not far away. Amazing job, mate.
CS: This is just happiness, not emotional. Amazing, guys! Who would have thought?!
GJ: Yeah, it is happiness. After everything we thought coming here, hell of a job. It’s been a pleasure so far working with you, mate. Every day is a bit more of a pleasure.
CS: Yeah, we are enjoying it now. Momentum for next year, let’s go! What was the issue, you picked up anything or not?
GJ: We saw the balance on metrics going up, at the moment I don’t have anything on the car health. I’ll feedback anything when you get back, but no more info at the moment.
CS: Copy… smooooth operatooooor, smooooooooth operatoooooor.
GJ: If one day you’re tired of being a Formula 1 driver, maybe you can start as a singer? Never know, maybe I can be your drummer or your guitarist?
CS: I was, errr, singing quiet.

For Alex Albon, it was a gritty drive in a race shaped by an early Safety Car – with both James Urwin (JU) and James Vowles recognising the crucial role he played across the season.
JU: Chequered flag, P11. That was unfortunate with that safety car at the beginning, and how it played out.
JV: Alex, I’m sorry you’ve had a difficult day. We’re going to come back stronger, I promise, in Abu Dhabi. But for you to know, your work this year has contributed towards P5 in the Constructors’ Championship – well done!
AA: Yeah, well done everyone. That’s very well deserved.
JU: So the two McLarens were the only two not to pit on that safety car, I think they made life difficult for themselves. They ended up second and fourth, with Carlos in P3.
