Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf, returned for Round 1 of the 2023 season and plenty of players got their year off to a strong start.
A fraction over 43% of PWP players secured 20 points or higher, while one switched-on fan managed to score full marks, securing the exclusive ‘Pit Wall Perfection’ badge in the process.

Q1: On which lap will Alex make his first stop?

Alex’s first stop came on Lap 11 just pushing him into the second option of Lap 11-20. This was good news for 73% of fans who called this correctly.
The Strategist was also spot on here, giving them a solid start to their weekend.

Q2: On which lap will Logan make his first stop?

Logan’s first-ever Formula 1 pit stop came just one lap later than Alex’s, again putting it in the bracket of Lap 11-20.
72% of PWP players scored points here, one of whom was The Strategist.

Q3: Which Williams Racing driver will pit first?

Albono was our first driver in the pits and, for the first time, a minority of players earned five points here.
49% followed The Strategist in correctly saying our No23 would pit first.

Q4: When the first Williams Racing driver pits, what position will they pit from?

The Strategist was spot on once more here, correctly calling that Alex would pit from between P11-P15.
54% of players followed their advice, picking up five points in the process.

Q5: How many pit stops will our drivers make between them?

Our pair pitted three times each, placing total pit stops in the 5+ category.
The Strategist used their knowledge of Bahrain’s highly-abrasive circuit to their advantage, as did just 15% of players.

Q6: How many full Safety Car periods will there be?

In a rarity for Bahrain, there were no full Safety Car periods and this caught out not only The Strategist, but also the majority of our players.
Only 11% of PWP players were correct here.

Q7: Which tyre will Alex end his race on?

Alex ended on the soft tyre, with the only other tyre run by Williams Racing being the hard.
34% of you were correct here, as was The Strategist.

Q8: Which tyre will Logan end his race on?

Logan also ended his maiden race on the soft tyre and again 34% of players, plus The Strategist, correctly called this decision.

The Strategist’s Score: 7/8

It seems Logan wasn’t the only one to make an impressive debut this weekend.
