Five things that have changed in Alex’s life since dyeing his hair

Will you be getting your hair dyed like Alex?

We all know things have been going pretty well for our man Alex Albon since he rocked up in the Melbourne paddock with his vibrant red hair.
It all started with a visit to Wat Sakeo Orphanage in Thailand, which is home to over 2,500 children.
Two kids, in particular, showed Alex around, both of whom were massive fans of Liverpool Football Club and showed their support through their red jerseys and matching red hair.
The boys asked our No23 if they could dye his hair red, an offer Alex duly accepted and as they say, the rest is history.
With a P10 finish in Australia and P11 at Imola, he bet the team that if he was back in the points in Miami, everyone had to dye their hair red too…
As such, his P9 classification has us all going back on our words or frantically searching for the nearest bottle of dye but, it did get us thinking: What else has changed in Albono’s world since going red?
Well don’t worry Williams fans, we’ve put together a comprehensive list.

1. His golf has improved dramatically

It’s quickly becoming the second favourite sport of the F1 paddock, but we all know Alex had connections to golf long before the others got involved.
Lily will have nothing to worry about, but as we understand it, Albono’s handicap has dropped rapidly since shaking up his barnet.
Coincidence? We think not.

2. Mr Forgetful no more

Alex had developed somewhat of a reputation for forgetting pretty much everything. Even on his very first day with the team back in January, we were almost looking through the rubbish for his misplaced keys.
George Russell even made sure Albono had two key cards for our Grove headquarters because, in the No63’s words: “Alex loses everything, it’s horrendous.”
We have it on good authority that since that visit to Thailand, nothing has been lost and not one birthday has been forgotten.

3. It’s good to C2 again

The red-haired racer took the title of “Tyre Whisperer” after his remarkable run on the hard compound around Albert Park saw him earn his first points of 2022.
Well in Miami, his second stint saw him once again fit the C2 hard tyre, not the exact same set as in Melbourne of course, but it wouldn’t have surprised us!
He ran the white-walled rubber on his FW44 for 41 laps, the joint-second longest stint of anyone on the grid. Remember: A Tyre Whisperer is for life, not just for the Australian Grand Prix.

4. Points mean prizes

Anyone who follows @albon_pets will know all about the extended furry family he and his siblings have back home.
Well, whenever our No23 finishes inside the top 10, the whole “Albon Zoo” is rewarded with a (cheeky) Nando’s delivery – his feline friends will certainly be hoping the red hair sticks around for some time to come!
We just have one question, what spice do @albon_pets go for?

5. He now loves marketing

Anyone who has followed Alex’s career for a while now will know of his disdain for anything related to the marketing team. Well, since going red he’s been more willing than ever before to help out wherever it’s been needed.
Interviews? Keep those questions coming as far as Alex is concerned nowadays. He’s enjoying things so much that he’s waived the red hair wager on the entire marketing department… haven’t you, Alex?
Please say you have, Alex. Please.
