Atlassian Williams F1 Team is proud to reveal a one-off Union Jack-inspired livery design and special edition team kit, as the team kicks off its week-long British GP celebrations.
The special livery showcases the energy and spirit of the team’s home race at Silverstone, with splashes of red, white, and blue across the nose cone and chassis side.
Drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will also show off the design with one-off race suits, while trackside team members will sport takeover kits, designed and made by Williams’ Official Team Kit Partner New Era. Fans will be able to join in the celebration, with the kit available as part of Williams’ special edition British Grand Prix merchandise collection which is on sale in our online store now.
Silverstone has played host to some of Williams’ most magical moments, including the team’s first victory in 1979 with Clay Regazzoni driving the FW07 and its 100th race win at the hands of Jacques Villeneuve in 1997. In total Williams has won eight times at Silverstone, with home favourite Nigel Mansell taking three of those wins and memorably giving Ayrton Senna a lift back on his sidepod after his dominant 42-second victory in 1991.
The livery forms part of a host of activations taking place over the course of the British Grand Prix week, designed to bring the thrill of the track right to its fans. Starting tomorrow, Williams will take its show car – carrying the special British GP design – to Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, and London.
London-based fans will also be able to join the team at our free-to-enter Fan Zone, presented by Kraken and offering on-stage appearances from Alex Albon, James Vowles and Damon Hill, as well as activations from partners and merchandise to help them get in the race week spirit.
James Vowles, Team Principal, Atlassian Williams F1 Team:
“We are proud to be flying the flag for the British GP this week. From our first win to our 100th, Silverstone has played host to some of Atlassian Williams F1 Team’s most iconic moments – and there is nothing on the F1 calendar quite like the atmosphere of the home crowd here. Whether watching in the grandstands, supporting at the Fan Zone or cheering us on from home, we really feel the energy of the fans and will be carrying it with us all weekend.”
