Atlassian Williams F1 Team is bringing an F1 car to major cities across Britain as part of a week-long celebration ahead of the team’s home race at Silverstone.
For the first time in Williams’ near 50-year history, the car will be taken to the streets of Edinburgh, Manchester, and Cardiff – giving fans an opportunity to connect with Williams like never before and completely for free.
The public will be able to get up close and personal to the car, which will be mounted on an open-air plinth right in the heart of the cities.
It is part of our ongoing commitment to give fans opportunities to connect with F1 without attending a race – and bring them closer to the sport than ever. Fans who share photos with the car will have the chance to win signed merchandise bundles.
As an iconic British team with fans the length and breadth of the country, ahead of the British Grand Prix on Sunday 5th July Williams will bring a car to:
Edinburgh, Castle Street – Tuesday 30th June
Manchester, St Ann’s Square – Thursday 2nd July
Cardiff, The Hayes, St David’s – Saturday 4th July
A Williams FW48 showcar will also be a centrepiece of the team’s grid-leading Fan Zone, presented by Kraken, in central London. Returning for the fifth year, the team’s iconic London Fan Zones have given more than 75,000 fans free-of-charge up-close access to F1 since they launched back in 2022.
Hosted at The Venue in Piccadilly Circus, driver Alex Albon and Team Principal James Vowles will drop into the Fan Zone for Q&A appearances. Fans can also take a spin on F1 simulators, test their reactions on Batak, and try out a host of other activities from partners including Anthropic, Wilkinson Sword and M&S over the course of the week. The Fan Zone will run from Tuesday 30th June to Sunday 5th July.
The cars on show will feature a nod to our British heritage, with splashes of red, white and blue inspired by the Union Jack. This design will also be featured on the FW48 cars driven by Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz at Silverstone. Continuing the celebration, the entire team will be wearing a one-off special team kit incorporating the same pattern. Fans can get their hands on the tees as part of an all-new British Grand Prix collection, available online and in the Fan Zone.
And legendary British chef Tom Kerridge and his team will be catering for Williams at Silverstone, providing guests and team members with a bespoke menu elevating local produce.
James Vowles, Team Principal, Atlassian Williams F1 Team:
“Less than 1% of fans ever go to a Grand Prix. Here at Atlassian Williams F1 Team, we’re committed to bringing every fan closer to the sport, giving them a chance to meet our team and learn more about what we do. Taking our car to four iconic British cities as part of our Silverstone celebrations is the embodiment of that. With our strong British fanbase, and our near 50-year heritage in Oxfordshire, it’s brilliant to be able to celebrate our progress, our community, and the people who have helped us to thrive as a team.”
