Two Atlassian Williams F1 Team Driver Academy members are back in action this weekend, with opportunities on both the Formula 1 and Formula 3 stages.
For Luke Browning, it’s another shot at valuable Formula 1 mileage after his Barcelona FP1 outing was cut short before it truly began. Meanwhile, Alessandro Giusti returns to Formula 3 competition at a circuit that delivered his strongest result in the category last season.
Luke Browning
Formula 1
Luke Browning will take to the track in Free Practice 1 at the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend, stepping into Carlos Sainz’s FW48 for the hour-long session at the Red Bull Ring.
With his planned outing in Barcelona denied by an electrical issue, Austria will therefore offer him his first chance to build experience in the current generation of Formula 1 machinery.
The 24-year-old arrives in Spielberg fresh from a busy spell of running in the United States, where he recently completed a TPC (Testing of Previous Cars) programme in Austin as part of his continued development with the team.
With valuable Super Formula race mileage already under his belt this year and growing familiarity with Williams machinery, FP1 in Austria represents another key step in Luke’s progression as Reserve Driver.

Alessandro Giusti
Formula 3
Alessandro Giusti returns to Formula 3 action this weekend as the championship heads to Spielberg for Round 4 of the season.
The Frenchman endured a difficult outing last time out in Barcelona, showing promising pace in practice with P4 before qualifying P13 left him on the back foot for both races. He kept things clean to secure P12 in the Sprint before a chaotic opening lap in the Feature limited him to P17.
Now Sandro heads to a circuit that holds good memories. Spielberg was the scene of his best Formula 3 result to date last season, when he charged to P2 in the Sprint Race. He also boasts further podiums and a win here from his time in the Formula Regional European Championship.
That previous success should provide confidence heading into another crucial weekend, as he looks to convert pace into points and continue climbing the standings in this summer stretch.
