Pit Wall Predictions, presented by Gulf, gets another shake-up this weekend at Silverstone.
With Sprint action back at the home of Atlassian Williams F1 Team for the first time since 2021, your predictions lock before the Sprint begins - meaning you’ll need to factor in both Saturday’s short-format race and Grand Prix qualifying before Sunday even arrives.
So far, it’s been a tightly fought weekend for the team. Practice and Sprint qualifying have left Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz starting P15 and P16 for the Sprint, with very little separating the pair as they prepare for a packed Saturday.
That leaves plenty of variables still in play, and here’s what The Strategist is backing for Round 9 of the 2026 season.
Don’t forget, with our new-for-2026 feature, you can now join or create a public or private group with friends to truly earn the bragging rights.

Q1: Where will the leading Williams driver finish the Sprint?
Strategist's Pick: P11-P15
It’s the first Sprint at Silverstone in five years, so there’s not much recent form to lean on. From P15 and P16, The Strategist expects at least one of our cars to move forward into the top 15.
Q2: Which Williams driver will finish higher in the Sprint?
Strategist's Pick: Carlos
Carlos was our lead finisher in the most recent Sprint event in Canada, and The Strategist is backing him to edge it again in the shorter format.
Q3: Which Williams driver will qualify higher for the Grand Prix?
Strategist's Pick: Alex
This one has been swinging back and forth all weekend. With the pair so closely matched across sessions, The Strategist is giving Alex the nod this time.
Q4: What will the gap be between Alex and Carlos’ best laps in GP qualifying?
Strategist's Pick: 0.100-0.199s
There was 0.257s between the pair last year, but Silverstone’s high-speed flow could see things even tighter. Expect it to come down to fine margins.
Q5: How many pit stops will our drivers make between them during the Grand Prix?
Strategist's Pick: 4 stops
Last year’s mixed conditions brought four stops for the team, and The Strategist is banking on some intervention for there to be a busy pit wall once again
Q6: How many full Safety Car periods will there be in the Grand Prix?
Strategist's Pick: 1
There were two Safety Cars here in 2025, but The Strategist is taking a slightly more conservative view this time around.
Q7: Where will the leading Williams driver finish the race?
Strategist's Pick: P11-P15
Alex finished P8 here last year, but with qualifying still to come and the jump to the top 10 looking slightly out of reach, The Strategist is playing it safe - though they’d happily be proven too cautious.
Q8: Which Williams driver will set our fastest lap of the race?
Strategist's Pick: Carlos
Alex held this honour last year, but The Strategist is backing Carlos to deliver the team’s quickest lap this time around..
