W50 Live opens at 26 Leake Street in Waterloo on 11 February 2027, bringing five decades of Williams under one roof or, rather, under the railway arches.
Running until 28 February, W50 Live: Williams, 50 Years of F1 Racing is an immersive, actor-led journey through the team’s story of triumph, tragedy and a relentless determination to succeed. Here’s what to expect.
When and where
W50 Live runs from Thursday 11 February to Sunday 28 February 2027 at 26 Leake Street, Waterloo, London.
Just over 50 years after Frank Williams discovered co-founder Patrick Head working in a garage under a London railway arch, we’re returning to the arches to celebrate our legacy.
How to get there
W50 Live will be just a short walk from Waterloo Station, which is served by London Underground’s Jubilee, Bakerloo, Northern and Waterloo and City lines, as well as National Rail services.
You’ll also be able to use the capital’s extensive bus network to make your way to the South Bank for this must-see experience.
Meet the characters
Live actors will guide you through six immersive spaces, each one a defining moment in the team’s history. Expect cultural details and soundscapes alongside original artefacts, all marking nine Constructors’ Championships, seven Drivers’ titles and 114 Grand Prix victories, with the next chapter still to be written.
Get up close to the cars
FW06: the first car produced by Williams Grand Prix Engineering
FW11B: driven to World Championship success by Nelson Piquet in 1987
FW14B: the legendary car that dominated 1992 and secured Nigel Mansell his crown
FW19: on display 30 years on from Jacques Villeneuve’s 1997 title win
FW25: the 2003 car that set the record for the fastest average speed in F1 history at the hands of Juan Pablo Montoya, a record that stood for 17 years
FW38: still the holder of the record for the highest speed ever reached by an F1 car, 378kph, set by Valtteri Bottas
A first look at the future
A show car of our 2027 challenger, the FW50, will also feature, named to mark half a century in Formula 1. The designation skips straight from this year’s FW48, just as we skipped from FW38 to FW40 on our 40th anniversary.
Team Principal James Vowles said: “Our celebrations will reintroduce the heroes and stories that have forged Williams’ legacy to a new generation of fans, who will carry us forward to reach new heights.”
