The United States Grand Prix is done and dusted, but how closely did your predictions match the action at COTA?

From qualifying expectations to tyre strategy, we’re looking back at the Pit Wall Predictions from our weekend in Austin. Lets take a closer look and see which predictions paid off, proved tricky and caught you out!

The popular call

You were confident Carlos Sainz would qualify ahead of Alex Albon, with 83% backing the Spaniard. That proved to be the right call, as Carlos qualified P19, ahead of Alex in P20.

The closest call

Our combined starting grid saw the community split, with 46% predicting a total of 20-28 and 43% going for 29-36. With Carlos starting P16 and Alex P17, our combined grid position was 33, making the latter the correct answer.

The one that caught you out

Predicting our best Grand Prix qualifying position proved tricky, with 47% expecting P14-P18 and 45% backing P9-P13. Carlos qualified P19, meaning the correct answer was P19-P22, a call made by just 3% of you.
