Carlos came home in P13 whilst Alex finished P16 in the finale at Yas Marina

The 2025 season finished with nothing added to our 137-point tally, after Carlos Sainz crossed the line in P13 and Alex Albon in P16.
It was a clean opening lap, but our Spanish racer would drop a spot on the medium tyres whilst Alex was able to gain a couple on the softs, placing us P13 and P15 as we settled into the first stint.
Alex would be one of the first to stop, pulling in on lap 8 to switch onto the hard tyres, re-emerging in P20, catching the pack back up by around a second per lap.
As cars ahead began to stop, Carlos would cycle up as high as P7 before peeling in for his only visit to the pits, rejoining in P18.
After the first round of stops, Alex was P14 tucked up behind Gabriel Bortoleto whilst Carlos was reeling in the two Haas cars.
The Haas pair, however, were chasing in Alex and on fresher rubber, both made their way past.

Meanwhile Carlos was hassling Isack Hadjar, and would make the move stick on lap 33, setting it up with good pressure in the first DRS zone before passing the VCARB in the second.
By now, Alex was P12 and Carlos was P13 when our Thai racer was asked to box opposite Nico Hulkenberg, and that’s exactly what he did on lap 34, fitting fresh mediums to take him to the flag and once again charging forward from P20.
However, he had gone over the pit lane speed limit and was handed a five-second penalty which would be applied at the flag.
Our drivers were making gains on track, with Carlos up to P11 and all over the back of Bortoleto in the fight for the final point, whilst Alex had risen to P16.
A wheel-to-wheel battle between Alex and Hulkenberg lasted a couple of laps, but the Sauber driver eventually made his way past in the final ten laps.
Alex would retake P16 after a good scrap with Hadjar, whilst Carlos looked to set up a move on Bortoleto, reporting the Brazilian moved under braking.
This battle saw Lance Stroll on new tyres fast approaching, and the Aston Martin made the overtake on both drivers in the final laps, before Hulkenberg also took a spot from Carlos, ensuring we finished P13 and P16 in the finale.
Ending the season in formation on the in-lap...
With 137 points, it ensured it was our strongest season since 2016 and our P5 championship finish was locked in after Qatar. Alex Albon finished P8 in the drivers’ standings with 73 points, with Carlos in P9 thanks to his 64 point tally.

James Vowles, Team Principal:

First and foremost, congratulations to Lando on a well-deserved Championship. For us, this marks the end of a really successful 2025. In a couple of days, we'll be testing here in Abu Dhabi in preparation for 2026 and, in just a few weeks' time, the 2026 car will be a reality and I can't wait. This is a good moment to say thank you to everyone that has been behind us for not just this year but for many years. It's the start of our journey and I can't wait for what's next. Thank you very much.

Carlos Sainz:

We haven’t been strong all weekend and today was a normal race with not much going on. We committed to a one-stop strategy and got stuck in a train of DRS, so there was little to do from there with the pace we had.
More importantly, looking at the season as a whole, it’s one to be proud of! I’ve stuck to my way of doing things, improved progressively throughout the year together with the team and, overall, we finished in good form. Fifth in the Constructors’ Championship was an ambitious target, and we got it, so I’m incredibly happy.
We need to stay hungry and continue to push all together. We have built solid foundations for next year but there is always margin for improvement. Thanks to the entire team for their effort and to every single one of our fans out there, your support means everything to us!
Last but not least, a massive congratulations to Lando on his first Drivers’ Championship! He’s an incredible driver and he has proven that you can achieve your highest goals staying true to yourself! Congrats my muppet friend! Well deserved!

Alex Albon:

Firstly, I’m very happy for Lando and his Championship win. He’s taken a big step forward this year, risen to the pressure and his title is well-deserved.
For us, it was a tricky race today. We had a great start, but we were never in a place where we had the tyre advantage, which meant we were stuck in a bit of a train.
The last few races have been tough, but overall, it’s been a great season for us. I’m proud of the team and proud to finish top of the midfield. There’s no big secret behind it; just hard work, good leadership from James, and building some strong foundations.
We’ve come a long way this season, and we’re heading into 2026 with a lot of optimism and a great mentality. I’m confident we can do great things next year, so I’m already excited to get back on track in 2026!
