Franco Colapinto’s impressive performance in Austin has garnered plenty of attention this week, after the Argentine secured a P10 finish at the United States Grand Prix.
But his commendable display at Circuit of the Americas hasn’t been the only thing grabbing the headlines — so we’ve rounded up the best stories about Williams from the past few days…
Colapinto continues to catch the eye
Formula1.com were keen to shine a spotlight on Franco’s performance, following Sunday’s successful race.
FC43 was unsurprisingly delighted with the result in Texas, saying: “I think more than the point, I’m happy for the pace we had and how strong we were in the race.
“After a very tough Saturday for us, we bounced back and showed the pace we had and we were one of the strongest in the midfield.
“That’s really positive for us and what we were looking for. And I think after such a tough Saturday for the team, to have this point, to have the pace, to have the fastest lap until the end of the race, it’s something else, you know.”
Meanwhile, James Vowles’ comments on Franco’s future were picked up by
Motorsport.com, with the Williams Team Principal suggesting he deserves a seat in Formula 1 for 2025.
James looks ahead
James also discussed the future of Williams Racing at an
Autosport Business panel last week.
He answered questions on a range of issues, from the team’s plans for 2025 and beyond, to the culture needed in a successful organisation.
“We have to accept that ‘24 and ‘25 are just simply stepping stones in our pathway, but they're not the key years,” he explained to Autosport editor-in-chief Rebecca Clancy.
“They're years where we'll deliver slight performance updates. We'll move forward. I think we've demonstrated that enough.
“But let's invest everything into our future and that's 2026, where near enough every single rule has changed, not a line in it carrying over from '24 or '25, not a piece of the car will carry over.”

Alex hits the hundred mark
The United States Grand Prix may not have gone to plan for Alex, but it was still a proud moment for our Thai racer.
Albono made his 100th Grand Prix start in Austin, with
The Athletic profiling the 28-year-old’s career to date in a pre-race feature on Saturday.
Unfortunately, damage sustained on the first corner prohibited Alex from challenging for points in Sunday’s main event, but he’ll be confident of bouncing back when the Mexico City Grand Prix rolls around this weekend.
Kraken partnership continues
Finally, Williams Racing were delighted to announce the extension of our global partnership with leading crypto platform Kraken last Thursday, with
Sport Industry Group picking up on that news.
Kraken will be an increasingly visible presence on our cars and driver attire in 2025, as well as continuing to partner with us at five Fan Zones across the globe next season.
