Formula 1 has today announced that the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve will be back on the calendar in 2027 and 2028.
Portugal last hosted races during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, but is set to return following the signing of a two-year agreement.
Portimão became the fourth different venue to host a Portuguese Grand Prix when it was added to the calendar earlier this decade, with Boavista, Monsanto and, most famously, Estoril all holding the event over the years.

Atlassian Williams Racing boasts the second-most F1 World Championship race victories in Portugal, with the first of six visits to the top step coming via Nigel Mansell in 1986.
A spell of five wins in six seasons between 1991 and 1996 made Portugal a popular stop for Williams fans, with Riccardo Paterese, Mansell again, Damon Hill, David Coulthard and Jacques Villeneuve all taking victory in the nation.
The 4.6km circuit is set in the hills of the Algarve, and its undulating layout makes it a real favourite amongst drivers. Whilst for fans, this purpose-built facility is a short drive away from the coast, with the historic port cities of Portimão and Lagos both nearby offering stunning beaches.
