It’s been another busy week at Williams, with races coming thick and fast at the business end of the season.
Last Sunday’s stint in Mexico City didn’t deliver any points for our duo, but there is an immediate opportunity to put that right at this weekend’s São Paulo Grand Prix.
And there has still been plenty to talk about following our visit to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, so we’ve rounded up all the media coverage of Williams from the last few days…
Colapinto comes close
Franco Colapinto was unable to break into the top ten in Mexico, but his P12 finish was nonetheless commendable after starting 16th on the grid.
His performances this season continue to garner praise, with Team Principal James Vowles discussing Franco’s development in an exclusive interview with
Campeones.
The Argentine’s displays have understandably led to speculation over his future, but he has dismissed speculation linking him with a seat at RB for 2025 — as reported in
Autosport.
Elsewhere, Franco shared his thoughts on a range of topics in an interview with Martin Brundle on
Sky Sports, while his Carlos Reutemann-inspired helmet for Mexico and Brazil received some coverage from the
Buenos Aires Herald.
Misfortune for Alex
Alex Albon was unfortunate to exit the Mexico City Grand Prix in the race’s early stages, after a collision with RB’s Yuki Tsunoda. It was a frustrating end to Alex’s weekend, after an eye-catching P9 finish in Qualifying — but AA23 simply put the incident down to “bad luck”.
Formula1.com reported on our Thai racer’s challenging outing at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, including quotes from Alex himself:
“We didn’t have the greatest launch but that was it really,” he said. “Obviously, we are all going into Turn 1, fighting for position, it’s a long straight for everyone to fight on.
“I don’t think I did anything wrong, I don’t think anyone else did anything much wrong either, just seems [to be] bad luck.
“It’s been a few races in a row that we’ve had incidents or bad timing.”Alex will be hoping for greater fortune when he travels to Interlagos for Round 21 of the campaign.

New-look livery
We unveiled new heritage-inspired livery for the Mexico City Grand Prix — and the FW46 will feature the same design in Brazil.
With shades of Nigel Mansell’s iconic championship-winning FW14B, the addition of yellow on the engine cover celebrates Williams Racing’s partnership with new sponsor Mercado Libre.
“Williams Racing and Mercado Libre are two brands synonymous with speed, trust and innovation, and this eye-catching engine cover is the perfect way to celebrate our partnership,” said Commercial Director James Bower.
“Yellow livery designs hold a special place in Williams’ storied history and it is great to see the colour return to our cars with one of Latin America’s leading technology companies.”
Jamie set for Jaguar
Williams driver and F1 Academy Adviser Jamie Chadwick is set to represent Jaguar TCS Racing in next month’s Formula E Women's Test.
As reported in
Autosport, the 26-year-old will be heading to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on 7th November, where she will line up alongside Ferrari factory driver Lilou Wadoux.
The event will be the first-ever all-women test session for an FIA Championship, as a total of 22 elite female racers put next season’s 11 GEN3 Evo car through its paces.
The prediction window for this Grand Prix has now closed.
